The grills never stop at Churrasqueira Bairrada Rodizio, the lively Portuguese eatery known for providing 20 years of outstanding food and friendly service.  Owner Manny Carvalho brings many years of experience, as well as the restaurant’s sparkling crystal light fixtures, model boats and a beautifully detailed tile painting, from his native Portugal.  

A basket of sweet, doughy Portuguese bread begins each meal.  Tender, juicy and vibrantly seasoned barbecue specialties are slow-cooked in a large barbecue pit using the traditional Portuguese method.  Chef Julio, who hails from Portugal, heads the team who prepare entrees using a natural flame source and imported wood charcoals, giving the food its unique natural flavor.  Manny was trained as a churrasqueiro, or grillmaster, specializing in preparing chicken, and the menu offers a complete selection of poultry and meats.  If you can’t choose just one, try the Rodizio, consisting of chicken and a variety of skewered meats served in unlimited quantities and accompanied with rice, homemade french fries, black beans and farofa.  We enjoyed branzini, delicately grilled with lemon; their famous chicken, and of course, their fabulous french fries.

Lunch specials change daily based on what’s freshest at the market, from fried codfish cakes to delicious grilled octopus in olive oil with oven roasted potato.  Homemade desserts are authentic and include a sugary sweet egg white confection and creamy flan.  The special recipe for red or white sangria continues to please in addition to the superb wine list with Portuguese selections. 

The Zagat Survey awarded Churrasqueirra Bairrada Rodizio a stellar 25 for food and called the chicken dinners “world class” and the sizzling skewers “incredible.”
