Estiatorio En Plo is a charming new Upper West Side restaurant that features a Greek seafood menu created by critically acclaimed Chef Peter Spyropoulos. En Plo’s rustic, romantic atmosphere recreates the charming ambiance of a Greek countryside restaurant. Located on the lower floors of a brownstone, the ambiance reveals itself through handsomely candle-lit wood tables, natural wood floors, terra-cotta walls, and a centerpiece featuring a colorful selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, and Mediterranean wild fish displayed on ice, market style.
After arriving with his family from Athens, Greece, Chef Spyropoulos enrolled in the prestigious Culinary Institute of America. Upon graduation, he spent a three year stint under famed chef David Bouley. After spending time at many of New York’s top Greek eateries, Peter opened En Plo in 2004 with partner Katerina Kampouroglou.
The menu at En Plo is creative, simple, and earthy. Seasonal seafood menus represent the regional and traditional cooking styles of Greece. An extensive raw bar enhances the menu, and a wide variety of mezes (Greek appetizers) are available for all to experience. En Plo has already become so popular that many customers have rented the restaurant for private parties, business events, and weddings.
En Plo features a superior selection of Greek and New World wines, and the list changes seasonally. A select number of Greek wines is available by the glass, offering guests the opportunity to explore the variety of grapes.
