Owner John Cantwell and CIA-trained Executive Chef Ed Witt organized their menu into small tastes (like tapas), tastes (appetizers), and large tastes (entrees), just right for sharing or creating personal tasting menus. Exquisite presentations of regional offerings are approachable and delicious. Working with farmers to secure the best environmentally sustainable ingredients, and getting products like Swordfish from Hawaii and Tasmanian King salmon, their progressive menu changes almost daily at the whim of the market, showcasing pure flavors with inventive but simple dishes under Ed’s restrained hand.
John and Ed have superb training and incredible experience having worked with the finest restaurateurs and chefs in the world (River Cafe and Daniel). They are passionate foodies with intense energy, have a mutual respect for each other and take great pride in what they do.
Order a sampling of small tastes for your table. Include the ultimate pig in a blanket, a homemade chicken and mustard sausage wrapped in sweet pretzel dough served with lager-cheddar sauce. Our large taste was seared sea scallops with mushrooms and salsify accented by the stunning green of fresh pea puree. House made desserts include an airy chocolate mousse, and an old-fashioned root beer float. The international wine list is a carefully selected work in progress by the highly respected Joe Delissio of River Cafe.
With comfortable, sophisticated surroundings and lush red velvet banquettes along buttercup colored walls, this two-tiered dining room also offers upstairs balcony dining. Butcher block tables add a casual feeling and long stem roses and candelight create a romantic ambiance. A glass partition sets off the handsome wood and brass bar.
