Located in the seaside town of Bayville, Mill Creek Tavern is the neighborhood restaurant you travel to from any neighborhood. Handsomely decorated with a sophisticated flair, the dining room is made up of comfortable booths separated from one another by etched glass, a stone fireplace, candles, framed mirrors, photos of sailboats and hanging leaded glass fixtures that softly illuminate the restaurant. Enjoy a drink at the bar and watch a sports event on one of the four flat screen TVs.
The owners have a commitment to excellence and carefully created a varied menu that is not only delicious but also a great value. There’s truly something for everyone on their menu - soups, salads, sandwiches, creatively prepared mussels, steaks and chops, fresh fish and comfort food. One of our entrees, grilled salmon, was topped with zesty stone ground mustard and tangy goat cheese, accompanied by warm grilled vegetables. Cowboy rib eye was perfectly grilled, totally satisfying and served with creamy mac and cheese and tender asparagus spears. There’s a reasonably priced international wine list, numerous beers on tap and by the bottle and a menu of designer cocktails. Single malt and blended scotches are popular here. Dessert ended our meal on a sweet note with homemade creme brulee and warm apple crisp with rolled oat topping. Mill Creek management went to great lengths to train their staff who are well-versed in menu items, and are friendly and accommodating.
