Long Island has a plethora of restaurants - American, Italian, Latin, Asian, German, French, etc. Every now and then a new concept restaurant opens. The Melting Pot is that “new” restaurant. It’s fun, it’s interactive and the food is good!
Start with a cheese fondue. Our choice was the savory spinach and artichoke with cubed bread, Granny Smith apples slices and vegetables for dipping. Salads are a fresh, creative and delicious interlude before your next course. For your entree, there are different specialties which include steak, chicken and seafood. There’s even a vegetarian fondue. Cooking styles vary from coq au vin with burgundy wine to mojo with a Caribbean flavor to fondue bourguignonne, the European style of cooking, served with their signature fondue batters. We had fun cooking tender chunks of steak and chicken in a flavorful broth. Shrimp and lobster tail were batter-dipped and cooked in canola oil - by us. Enjoy one of their fine wines or creative mixed cocktails with your meal. Then onto my favorite course, dessert. Cheesecake, brownies, pound cake, strawberries and oreo coated marshmallows were all dipped in a luscious mixture of sweet white chocolate and caramel.
The Melting Pot is a warm comfortable mix of rich woodwork and upholstered booths, perfect for families and intimate enough for that special rendez-vous. They also have large tables for social gatherings.
What started out many centuries ago as a Swiss communal dish shared at the table is now “all the rage” at The Melting Pot. FIXED PRICE DINNERS; PRIVATE PARTY ROOM;
WINE DINNERS; HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE
