Black & BlueCuisine: Seafood Chop House
Avg. Check: $26-$50
Attire: Casual Neat

Walk into Black & Blue, Huntington’s new seafood and chop house, and the beauty of all-new decor and quality of a superior menu may be intimidating. However, for all its elegance, owner Lou Aloe and executive chef Steven Del Lima have created a place that remains friendly, homey and casual. The staff makes a remarkable impression with their kindness and teamwork. They show guests to a cozy, sophisticated dining room decked out in shimmering black and gold curtains, high-backed circular booths and plush carpeting. A wall embedded with a saltwater fish tank separates this area from the lively bar where guests enjoy cocktails from a creative martini list.
CIA-trained Steven worked at Manhattan’s Daniel and Le Bernadin, bringing with him a fearless originality for crafting dishes like espresso-rubbed steak. In an effort to “go green”, he uses Argentinean grass-fed beef and certified organic meats and fish. Enjoy coconut shrimp salad with wild arugula and tasty peach melba emulsion. Maine lobster bisque reveals chunks of lobster meat and caramel popcorn croutons that remain miraculously crunchy. Florida red snapper arrives in its bamboo steamer alongside marinated artichokes and olive relish. Tasso ham and herbed polenta cake accompany a tremendous portion of tender fontina and spinach stuffed pork chop.
Pastry chef Elizabeth Petitto crafts desserts like a perfect summer tea creme brulee and brown butter bomboloni, Italian doughnuts piped full of vanilla cream. The carefully chosen wine list has selections from around the world.
Inviting in winter with its roaring fireplace or summer with an enchanting outdoor patio, Black & Blue remains a hotspot regardless of the weather outside.
