Chic and inviting, Thyme has a sophisticated ambiance with a romantic glow from candles that flicker on each table. Located in the quaint village of Roslyn, the restaurant has a wall of windows looking out onto the picturesque Roslyn Duck Pond. Comfortable banquettes, a fireplace, soft lighting and mixed tones covering the walls complete the decor of the main dining room. A beautiful wood bar is great for relaxing with a selection from their martini menu and a private room is ideal for parties. There’s also a deck where you can watch the ducks and swans while you dine al fresco.
Owner Nancy Serna, a long time food entrepreneur, says her newest endeavor is a “labor of love.” Executive Chef Olivier Samuel Smith, with 25 years experience in various high profile restaurants is a master in the kitchen. We were very impressed with all the dishes we sampled. Tender Escargots were served with little brioches; Caramelized Onion Tart topped with a crisp potato crust and tangy goat cheese was a tasty mix of flavors and textures; and pan seared Snapper had a basil drizzle that accented the fish. Luscious house made desserts, banana bread pudding and chocolate espresso cake are both Nancy’s recipes and were heavenly endings to our memorable meal. The innovative menu changes with the seasons and incorporates French and American influences to the European cuisine.
Nancy’s goal was to create a restaurant for friends and families to get together, have a great meal and relax. She did just that at Thyme Restaurant & Cafe Bar. LIVE MUSIC; OUTDOOR DINING; WATERVIEW; TASTING MENU; WINE DINNERS; SPECIALS; PRIVATE PARTY ROOM; ON & OFF PREMISE CATERING; TAKE OUT
