With a comfortable rustic pub-like setting, Austin's Ale House has become a meeting place for neighborhood folks who come for the exciting atmosphere and food.
Executive Chef Cliff Botelho, with years of cooking experience, says people come for the nightly specials... they are originals. He takes familiar dishes and puts his own spin on them. To crab cakes he adds shrimp; large tender shrimp are served in a sweet sambuca cream sauce; and marinated skirt steak with mashed potatoes and onion rings is presented like a volcano about to erupt. His dishes are full of great flavors and portions are generous. Burgers are also very popular here and there are 13 different preparations of these hearty half pound beef patties. The varied menu is made up of crisp salads, pasta, fresh seafood and meat and all entrees come with a house salad. A reasonably priced wine list, a creative martini list and an international beer list has something for everyone’s taste. In addition, they offer premium tequila, single malt scotch and small batch bourbon. Enjoy a specialty coffee with a luscious dessert and your meal is complete.
Owner Mark Boccia (who also owns Bourbon Street, 40-12 Bell Blvd, Bayside, 718-224-2200) created a restaurant that has mass appeal. Austin’s Ale House is perfect for families, singles and that special date. You can even have dinner in the OTB room and watch an exciting race.
