Warmly decorated in tones of golden yellow and celery green, Cafe Il Villaggio makes you feel right at home. Owners Michael and Lucy Domingo say, “Our customers are an extension of our family.” You’ll fit right in seated in the cozy dining room outfitted with lantern-style wall sconces. Rich woodwork accents and candlelight dancing on each table lend to the intimate atmosphere.
Your meal begins with garlicky bruschetta and a basket of homemade focaccia and bread. But don’t fill up! Portions here are huge and a crisp house salad accompanies each entree. Order from the extensive menu starting with the signature appetizer, antipasto tre piani. Layers of grilled eggplant come stacked with peppers, portobello mushrooms and mozzarella in a sweet balsamic drizzle. Imaginative dishes include couscous crusted codfish in a citrus reduction with shiitake mushrooms and pollo di gradi, chicken breast layered with prosciutto, grilled eggplant, fresh mozzarella and sliced tomato in a demi marsala sauce. There are dozens of fresh pasta choices and seven varieties of ravioli. Wines come from around the globe with some reserves from Michael’s private collection. Homemade desserts include creamy tiramisu and freshly filled cannolis. Michael, a culinary trained chef from Sicily, met Lucy through their love for food and wine. Their high standards in the kitchen translate into excellent food in the dining room. Lucy’s sister Josephine is in charge there, and service is friendly and attentive.
Come meet the Domingos and share their passion for fine, fresh food. You’ll feel like one of the family even if it’s your first visit.
