Joshua Penalo and Angelo Garcia took over Jackson Landing to breathe new life into Bellmore. Their elegant dining experience coupled with Executive Chef Matthew Treanor’s seafood-focused creative New American cuisine makes the Landing an ideal destination for an intimate dinner or grand special occasion.
The handsomely decorated dining room boasts a serene view of the Jackson Creek. Take in the atmosphere on the water’s edge with a seat on the outdoor patio. Inside, soft lighting sets off beige walls, light wood treatments and crisp white tablecloths. Touches of burgundy complement plush green carpeting. The rich dining room contrasts nicely with a crisp tiled area surrounding the long wooden bar.
Professional and friendly servers caters to guests’ every need, serving dishes from a vast eclectic menu showcasing an impressive selection of specialties. First courses reflect Jackson Landing’s waterfront location with offerings like fried calamari tossed in cherry pepper lemon oil and creamy lobster bisque. Asian influences make an appearance in roasted duck wontons and sesame seared tuna. The raw bar serves Blue Point oysters and Little Neck clams in addition to shrimp and crab cocktails. Main courses give a nod to the surf with choices like roasted tilapia while turf holds its own with braised short ribs accompanied by truffle mashed potatoes.
The varied wine list is a mix of local and international vintages, most recently introducing Spanish and South American bottles. For a kick, try a selection from the
