Hudson's Mill is a handsome,sophisticated restaurant designed by Morris Nathanson. Rich dark woodwork highlights the plaid banquettes and imposing alabaster light fixtures, and brown and beige colors run throughout the dining room. The wine cellar houses their reasonably priced international wine collection with forty labels available by the glass. Tableside sconces cast a warm romantic glow on your dining experience and a variety of music including jazz softly plays in the background.
Owner Ralph Belfiore, a seasoned restaurateur, and Chef Michael Fiorentino put together an irresistible menu with a wide range of dishes from grilled steaks to fresh seafood, to creative chicken and pasta. They use as much local product as possible. Long Island steamers and soft shell crabs are often specials of the day. On Wednesday nights during the summer you can feast on their Lobster Special - a three course dinner which includes a generous two pound lobster.
We thoroughly enjoyed an excellent plump crab cake, and pristine oysters and clams from their seafood and raw bar. The 20 oz. rib eye was perfectly grilled as ordered in a flavorful Merlot demi glaze, and pan seared salmon was tender and delicious in a light cucumber dill sauce. All desserts are house made with many to choose from like the super rich chocolate six layer cake, and a vanilla ice cream crepe rolled with nutella. Their chocolate chip biscotti are among the best we've ever had. Service is knowledgeable and efficient by a friendly staff.
The vibrant atmosphere in the bar is electric and lively with TVs and an upbeat crowd. Join them for a designer martini and a lite bite or a fine wine and gourmet dinner.
