Smokin’ Al’s has made its mark on Bayshore.
Even on week nights, the restaurant is packed with diners who are smackin’ their lips on this real BBQ cooking. It’s fun, it’s casual, and it’s ingenious! Barbecue is owner Al Horowitz’s passion. After traveling to every great “BBQ town” throughout the United States, he opened Smokin’ Al’s. The secret starts with the slow smoking process - barbecuing food at low temperatures for several hours. Al is the “Pit Master” and oversees the preparation of every dish that leaves the kitchen.

The turn-of-the-century building that houses the restaurant is decorated with artwork of cartoon-like pigs in 1940’s saloons, exposed red brick, wood floors, and contemporary lighting. Hot jazz of that same era plays
in the background. Enjoy a cold beer at the copper-top bar while you wait to be seated. The place has such
a high energy, even waiting is fun.

Tables are equipped with Al’s own recipe BBQ sauces - original, sweet talkin’ and rattlesnake (spicy) and a roll of papaer towels. Don’t be afraid to dig in and enjoy the experience. While tender fall-off-the-bone ribs are the main attraction, other popular dishes are the sweet and succulent brisket, the overstuffed sandwiches and the juicy burgers. Decadent desserts include cruncy-creamy fried cheesecake.

Smokin’ Al’s - it’s finger-lickin’ good Southern
comfort food. Dress casual and roll up your sleeves. This is “barbecue the way it ought to be!”
