The wavy blue ceiling reminds you of the water the fresh fish comes from that you will enjoy at Nisen. Pristine sushi is prepared by five sushi chefs and creative cooked dishes are prepared by the talented kitchen staff.
Owner-executive chef Tom Hiyashi travels and discovers ideas for new dishes. He experiments with ingredients until he comes up with unique dishes he is happy with. His customers are delighted with his exquisitely presented innovations, some of them returning so many times, the staff knows what they want even before they order. Menus are extensive. There’s the regular menu of sushi, sashimi, and cooked delicacies. There’s a menu of sushi special rolls, some named after the customers who “invented” them, and there’s a menu of sushi bar special appetizers. Then there are the kitchen specials. There’s a menu of specialty drinks and cocktails, including sake flights where you can try three different kinds of cold premium sakes.
Tom also hand picked all the elements that make up the contemporary decor including a magnificent kimono that hangs on the wall, and shogi screens that divide the private tatami rooms from the rest of the dining room.
