Bourbon Street in New Orleans is the place for
jazz cafes and restaurants. Bourbon Street in Bayside combines both elements - great food and live jazz.
Owner Mark Boccia created an atmosphere made for fun - from the pressed tin ceiling, comfortable
banquettes, New Orleans-style artwork with a jazz theme, wall sconces that resemble antique street lamps, and of course, a long handsome lively bar. The bar scene at Bourbon Street is an important element of the restaurant, where friends gather to enjoy a cold beer or a specialty drink.
Chef Joseph Cannela, who trained at the Culinary Institute of America, created a menu that is a balance of Cajun specialties and American favorites that will excite the senses. Presentations are as vibrant as the flavors. Portions are huge and prices are reasonable. One of Joe’s favorites is jambalaya and he prepares this full-flavored dish with chicken, crawfish and andouille sausage, served with a square of delicious cornbread. Daily changing specials are exciting popular choices and include a recipe from Emeril’s cookbook (with Joe’s personal twist) - BBQ Shrimp in a civilized spicy cream sauce. Joe continues to impress customers with his homemade desserts. Luscious! The staff seem to have as much fun as the diners while the music plays on.
Bourbon Street is a unique restaurant - the
