Rein is a “modern American bistro” in a comfortable lounge setting amidst the lavish surroundings of the Garden City Hotel. The casual restaurant boasts high
oak ceilings, Nouveau art, rich woods, two fireplaces, four flat screen TVs, a dramatic back-lit bar flanked by murals with caricatures of famous guests of the hotel including Rod Stewart, the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel and Jack Nicholson. Candlelights are flickering on the tables while you relax with a creative martini and enjoy some lively conversation and people watching.
Critics are calling Rein “a suburban oasis” with a warm and inviting atmosphere. In 2002, The New York Times restaurant critic Richard J. Scholem wrote “...earthy and elegant on what is perhaps Long Island’s most refined,
rarefied bar menu... it offers some of the same ingredients, care, concern and creativity from the high powered kitchen...most patrons will be treated to unexpectedly upscale amenities.”
Executive Chef Steven DeBruyn offers an eclectic menu of seasonal items and likes to keep it simple and
fun so you can have a chance to taste and share a lot
of different dishes from sushi to burgers to exotic cheeses. Top NYC bartenders service the night club and restaurant’s “powerful business players.” There’s live music Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and “Let’s Vibe Thursdays” has an “A List Party” of industry professionals where creator/
promoter Brian Rosenberg keeps the nightlife exciting.
