This delightful contemporary Chinese-Japanese restaurant is well established for more than 16 years. Newly redecorated, it has plush carpeting, Japanese sun umbrellas, framed water color paintings, a dramatic black and white photograph of owner Michael Chang and his wife on their wedding day in full ceremonial dress, Chinese lanterns and a granite sushi bar. There are
two private dining areas for more intimate dining or
for small parties.
The staff is very attentive and well versed in all
the menu items. House specialties are numerous and include tender fish filet with black bean sauce, and
marinated lamb with snow peas and straw mushrooms. There’s a blackboard of enticing daily specials which include tender pieces of Chilean sea bass in a savory
garlic sauce, Mongolian beef with mushrooms and carrots in a slightly sweet thick brown sauce, and lobster roll salad. Michael’s family has a long history in the
restaurant business in Mainland China and he draws
on their experience for original recipes. The Japanese menu is as extensive as the Chinese menu. Most
customers include both cuisines in their dinners. Specialty rolls are Crazy Tuna Roll - spicy white tuna with avocado and crispy tempura flakes, Eastern Roll with shrimp, egg, avocado and caviar and Rainbow Roll - assorted raw fish on top of a California roll. There is a full bar and a list of fabulous tropical drinks, presented with a miniature umbrella and a cherry on top.
