Bedlam Street Fish & Clam Co Submitted by: Margaux Walls on Oct 13th 2007 We read up on this restaurant before we went and it was a disappointing experience. Both this site and restaurant.com stated it had a children's menu for $5 - not even close!! The children's menu is a verbal not written one and it consists of 2 items (chicken fingers or pasta) and cost us $10 and $8 dollars. $8 for a child's portion of pasta with butter? OUCH. The menu is very limited with only about 5 choices available outside the 1 special of the night (short ribs, southwestern skirt steak, spinach stuffed chicken breast, fish dish, and gorganzola crusted sirloin). These dishes were well made by a great chef. I can appreciate that even if I did not enjoy the dish I ordered (the chicken breast was suppose to come with polenta - I found about 2 tablespoons under the chicken breast and the flavor was not to my liking).
As long as you enjoy the few choices available on their menu, this restaurant is a very good culinary experience. The prices of the food were worth it. I raved about the calamari (highly recommended but not enough sauce and a request for additional sauce was met with a stare). The price of the drinks were outrageous but that's common for the area (apple martini costs $10).
We went early friday night and they had a trio playing mood music which was nice. A place for couples to enjoy the hip vibe this restaurant trys hard to cultivate. But most definitely NOT recommended for families.
