sick
Submitted by: christine on Aug 25th 2007
We ate at a lovely place last night. A few hours after we got home my poor husband was up vomiting most of the night. He was running a temp. He had escargot and fish too. The meal was over 100 for both of us. I am annoyed. What should I do?

notify the owner of the establishment. But in all fairness, without the proper medical tests on your husband you don't know if he had a stomach virus or food poisoning. If it is food poisoning, the bacteria might have come from something he ate a day or two prior to getting sick.

the publisher of this magazine is right...food bourne illness takes 6-8 hrs to manifest itself in your system...food poisoning does not occur 1-2 hrs after eating something at a restaurant...AND if one person gets sick from eating at a restaurant most likely others will get sick too...bacteria has no conscious and will spread rather quickly to other pieces of raw food and contaminate it without hesitation...this is something EVERYONE should know about food poisoning...once again, thank you to the publisher for printing it.
