The hostess that greeted us was hardly friendly and set the wrong tone. She asked for the name of our reservation, (did not say hello-no smile and plenty of attitude)did not find our reservation on the computer screen, asked again.."what was the name?" (not that she was really paying attention to us when we first walked in). She found the reservation, advised us it would be a few minutes and pointed out the coat check and the bar with hardly any care. If Nikki (who was taking the coats) had greeted us when we first walked in, then our first impression would have been much different. Nikki was smiling, friendly and sweet. She welcomed us and wished us a great evening. A second hostess came to let us know that our table was ready, and she was as pleasant as the first hostess (hardly). We left the bar to go to the hostess station and waited while the hostess had a conversation with the other hostess leaving us to just stand there with out any idea where we going (this conversation was at least 3 minutes - which may not seem much but when you are being ignored - can seem forever). The hostess started walking with menus without saying to follow her or "come with me" or any words of the kind. She walked slowly through the room to our table and other than placing the menus in our hands, had no contact with us. Our server, Liz, was outstanding and the food was okay. When we go out, the service (from start to finish) is what comes first to the food and if one is not feeling that they are wanted in an establishment, one does not come back.
