Hi, I had my son's 1st birthday party there on 1/29. We were approx. 50 people. The owners and the staff were extremely hospitable and the atmosphere in the downstairs room with the fireplace is warm, cozy and inviting. But, I'd have to say that the best feature of 105 Harbor is the food. All of my relatives are still raving about how good the food was. Good luck!

The restaurants included on this website and in our magazine are top restaurants on LI (and Queens). Sometimes they have an off night and things are less than perfect. We suggest calling or writing to the owner with a particular experience that you had. Owners want to know what happens in their restaurants when they are not there.

Frank's Steaks

This is my favorite steak restaurant ever. The atmosphere is cozy, friendly, and very accommodating. As an extra "nugget", it was where my fiancee and I ate dinner just moments prior to getting engaged! That being said, it is definitely the type of environment which would suit soon-to-be engaged couples, at least in my opinion! Way to go, Frank's!!!!!

Hey Patti, Try Brindisi on Jericho turnpike. It is only a few blocks off the LIE. We had my daughter's communion there. The food was great and the accommodations were as well. The large room was upstairs. It is indoor/outdoor. Part of the room is a very large covered porch where I had the DJ and kids set up. I don't know if the covered porch has any heat, so you might have to wait for the spring. It is definately worth a trip to look at. Good luck with your baptism. I am planning another communion, only this time in suffolk county.:)

Submitted by: R&M on Mar 5th 2012
We had the pleasure of dining at Il Piatto last night. Comfortable, warm atmosphere; efficient service; and delicious food. The Chicken Scarpariello had tender pieces of chicken, well-spiced chunks of sausage, onions, peppers and crispy potatoes. The Osso Bucco was tender, rich in flavor and accompanied by creamy polenta. The portions are huge and the prices are reasonable.
