Meat Me is a sleek new French steakhouse and Sushi bar, where the owner and executive chef have drawn on their backgrounds and histories to bring appealing new flavors to Manhattan’s Upper West Side.
Open since the fall of 2011, this French-American steakhouse plays to its elegant crowd by offering an array of sophisticated salads, primo pastas, and prime aged steaks from a master butcher. The dining room is airy and spacious, with exposed brick walls and banquette seating lending a modern touch to the baroque styling of lavish chandeliers and ornate paintings.
The owner, Yarden Gorge, boasts that the art of creating a gouumet dining experience is in her genes – and she proves to be a generous and gregarious host to the delight of her diners. The menu blends French, American and Asian influences, and is a testament to Executive Chef Shlomo Gore’s extensive experience in preparing fine French cuisine.
Certain ample appetizers are meant to share, like the popular "L’assiette Meat Me" – a selection of duck, beef and chicken dishes, including lamb sausages that the chef makes himself.

All the dishes are presented with gusto and cooked to perfection (read; so moist and tender, you don’t need a knife to cut the beef). Patrons rave about a number of dishes including Meat-Me Delmonico, with grilled tomatoes, fried onions, and scallions, and topped with a soy ginger sauce; Tagines D’agneau, a Moroccan lamb stew, cooked with apricots, and fennel; and Coq au Vin, the quintessential French chicken dish, prepared in a red Merlot and Cabernet wine, with a medley of shallots, garlic, mushrooms, and placed gracefully on a bed of fettuccini pasta.
Also found on the traditionally French menu are rare, eclectic items, including the singular bison burger, and an exciting line up of sushi rolls. The restaurant also has a wide range of pastas and fresh fish.
When sidewalk café added during warmer weather, Meat Me takes on a truly French aesthetic – the place to enjoy a glass of wine while seated on the avenue of Amsterdam.
