Located in the heart of midtown, an exceptional dining restaurant that happens to be kosher is a good way to describe one of the best kosher restaurants in the country. The Prime Grill doesn’t have any typical Jewish foods on the menu- and they prefer it that way. Appealing to an upscale, high-end crowd, and even to the occasional celebrity, the owners felt that while there are many kosher restaurants, they lack the high standards to be the best. Together with their dry aging facility on premises, they only get the highest quality of meat, with no expense spared. Executive Chef David Kolotkin, from Windows on the World, doesn’t see any limits when it comes to kosher products because if he doesn’t like what he sees, he creates it from scratch. The staff sporting white aprons over dark-blue shirts with savvy ties, is cordial and solicitous. The wood-paneled dining room is run like a smooth, well-oiled machine and everything is done with excellence and with great attention to detail. The restaurant received the highest rate in the Zagat survey food category (24) compared to all other kosher restaurants.

I believe they do allow substitutions and there prices are high but so is their quality. I wouldn't call it outrageous. What is your last name, so they can see who your waiter was?

I DONT THINK YOU REALLY ATE THERE. WE ALWAYS ACCOMODATE OUR PATRONS. OUR PRICES ARENT OUTRAGEOUS, OUR MEAT, FISH, AND PRODUCE ARE HIGHER QUALITY AND MORE EXPENSIVE THAN ANYWHERE ELSE. STICK TO KD!

Jonathan,
That does seem like alot of money pp.I have eaten there over the years tons of times and you can spend over $100 pp easy with appetizers, sushi, dinner, dessert but the reason the private room is so expensive is you are getting better service and they wait on you hand and foot.I would just reserve for however many people in your party and forget the private party room.

as in all restaurants a party price is more than an average check unless you come in on a slower day or time. the reason for this is that parties generally sit for double the time that an average diner does. i suggest to friends when asking about booking parties at restaurants to be open on the day (weekends or mondays) or times (early like 5:30pm or after 9pm) to get the best pricing.
