ABOUT Back to Nature

When the Bijou family established Back to Nature in 1994, they were pioneers of the natural cooking philosophy in Brooklyn. Since then, they continue to innovate, focusing on the integrity of the ingredients, using fresh and organic options, and adding a novel dish each day. The sandy, rustic walls and soft lighting, create the oasis diners relish when stopping in during a hectic day. In the evening, the ambience provides a relaxing vibe to complement a light dinner.

Whether your preference is vegan, or vegetarian, you will find an excellent choice among the wide variety of dairy, sushi, fish and pasta selections. One bite and you’ll know you are indulging in the most pure and palatable dishes. The omelets are oven-baked, all-natural smoothies are made with fruits in season, and the stir-fry is prepared with buck-noodles. Any dish may be customized for customers with allergies and or special dietary restrictions. Pizzas are offered with spelt, whole wheat or regular crusts; pastas can be made with whole-wheat or regular dough.

Some highly recommended dishes are the succulent Walnut-Coated Tilapia with a lemon sherry sauce; the tuna with wasabi butter is masterfully grilled and then baked to perfection. New to the menu, and now adored is the Broiled Tilapia in a Porcini Mushroom Sauce. The chef exclaims that “this sauce, made with a sherry wine, porcini and a special blend of spices, gives the fish a mouth-watering taste that will make you come back for more!”

[continued above, right]

The spinach and mushroom lasagna is heavenly, while the Macro Bowl, an ample plate of organic brown rice, black beans, tofu, steamed vegetables and a garnish of sea vegetables, is substantial and satisfying. Similarly, the vegetable cutlet with mushroom sauce and side salad, has been much-loved menu item for over a decade. Dessert muffins naturally-sweetened, and 98% fat-free, and the Toll House Pie with a scoop of ice cream may be the only “guilty” treat to be had. With the addition of a new pastry chef, and an edgy coffee bar, where the java is brewed in single servings only, Back to Nature maintains its exciting, innovative and healthy cuisine.

Online Ordering
Shmuli From Flatbush- 02/15/07
I noticed that some stores are smart enough to have online ordering from their websites. Glatt Ala Carte, Back to Nature, Different Twist Cafe, etc. I was wondering what some of your readers think of this. I actually have a friend who does this kind of work. Anyway, looking for some responses.
