Although located in the heart of Valley Village, the San Fernando region of laid back Los Angeles, Eilat Grill is of European café society genre.
The plush main room with curved marble columns and dim lighting, transports you to a Roman villa. The walls are a harmonious blend of sepia and cream, there’s an oversized copper vase as an accent piece, and the tabletops and floors are appointed in variegated Jerusalem limestone.
Once you move into outdoor seating area, however, the mood begins to lighten. You find yourself at a seaside resort with crisp white and caramel-dotted fabric wooden chairs, though with a view of tree-lined Burbank Boulevard.
The chef, Jacob Levy, emphasized that the food is always fresh, and the impressive array of choices on the International menu. Whether you are here for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the worlds is your guide: a Mediterranean Shakshuka breakfast consists of a poached egg in homemade spicy tomato sauce. For lunch, there the classic American grilled chicken sandwich. And dinner picks include Italian favorites such as Chicken Picatta, and Wild Mushroom Linguini. The restaurant’s beer menu boasts libations from Mexico, Holland and Germany. The Fat Tire beer from Belgium may pair well with the Belgian fries.

Diners thrilled about the amazing, crispy avocado roll appetizers with a tangy dipping sauce. For meal-sized salads, you could choose from Nicoise, Israeli Caesar, Duck and Arugula, and Tropical Salmon salads. All the soups are made from scratch.
Eilat’s signature dishes reflect its eclectic flair: the Chef’s Cut Steak- 24 oz. Rib Eye is grilled to your taste, served with mashed potato and vegetables, and topped with mushroom cabernet sauce; the pastrami burger is a great combo of deli and juicy burger. Aside from the fine dining offered, the restaurant has a New York-style deli and bakery counter with adjoining seating.
If you wish to continue to continental feel of the evening with dessert, the French macaroons and the rich and decadent hot chocolate fit nicely. Other sweets, such as the Tiramisu, Cappuccino Cup or Praline Dream, cap off a meal nicely as well.
They are open until 11 PM on weekdays, which gives guests ample time to visit the Hookah lounge.
