ABOUT China Bistro

Exotic flavors and inviting surroundings is how to describe a China Bistro experience. This is the kind of restaurant that will have you raving to your family and friends. Owners Daniel and Jo-el Mamon have spared nothing in assuring you the dining pleasure of a lifetime. Born in Morocco and raised in Paris, Daniel strives for excellence and amazingly, achieves it each day and night. Since their opening in August of 2004, only the finest ingredients, only the top chefs and only the most professional waiters are brought in. When you first walk up to the restaurant you will be greeted by a gracious host and find yourself under a large canopy with several comfortable outdoor tables. Normally the weather is beautiful in Florida, so many people choose to sit outside. However, there is something luxurious about the indoor ambiance of this hip and trendy Asian restaurant. Decorated tastefully with bright lights and a red and black color scheme, there is a full sushi and liquor bar in the center of the dining room surrounded by fully cushioned leather seats.

[continued above, right]

The 5 star decor is equally matched by their cuisine. With over 165 items, Daniel carefully chooses each and every dish to make sure it’s on par, not only with his standards, but with yours. This is not some ordinary Chinese restaurant. There are items on the menu which you will recognize but then there are dozens of creations that will sizzle your tastebuds. The restaurant is interesting in that it’s casual enough to take the kids, yet, classy enough to take a client for a business meeting. They have a wonderful reputation and have received rave reviews from the likes of Michael Dozer, of the famed real estate group and from Lord William of England. While he may be royalty, after one visit to China Bistro you’ll experience how a king really dines.

PROS: Great sushi
CONS: Tiny portions of Chinese and NO FRIED RICE (The only fried rice you can have, you must pay 16.75 for because they consider it a dish.)

My husband & I ate here at 9:00 PM on Sunday night - still very slow service (our main course came before our soups after a 20 minute wait after ordering), but delicious food. Is it worth it? I'm not so sure...
