Nestled in the corner of the Milburn shopping mall, Mosaica is a charming and cozy French Mediterranean restaurant offering a wide range of delicious and innovative dishes. The restaurant is named Mosaica for two reasons. One, for the cultural mosaic of 14 different countries bordering the Mediterranean and the influence of their cuisine. The other is that a mosaic has many tiles with lots of colors. Similarly, the restaurant’s food is prepared with many spices and colors.
The restaurant was taken over in April of 2006, by restaurateur Dalia Barness of The Orchid and Michel Toledano. They are determined to maintain the same high standards of former owner and chef Todd Aarons. All foods are freshly prepared and all meats are trimmed, marinated and aged to perfection. The restaurant’s sophisticated menu is based on seasonal changes and is a product of the Chef’s palate, Moses Wendel and his expertise. A lot of work goes into their selections and once you complete your meal, you will surely notice that. You are also encouraged to bring your own Mevushal wine.
The aroma and flavors of dishes that are centuries old and boldly modern will nurture your soul and please your palate. Experience the House Cured Merguez with Arugula, Chickpea Polenta, Red Onion/ Red Pepper Jam and Harissa Puree. Braised Lamb Shank is the real deal with Tahina Jus, Egyptian Spiced Fava Beans, Almonds and Golden Raisins. After dinner, end on the rich note of warm chocolate cake with pistachio/ coconut ice cream. They were recently written up in the New Jersey Star Ledger, where they declared, “you don't have to be Jewish to enjoy Mosaica, a high-style kosher restaurant featuring expressive French/Moroccan cuisine.”

Had dinner last night at Mosaica, and it was superb. The food and service were excellent. It's nice to have such a good Kosher restaurant so close to home.
