Offering fine dining at prices unheard of at restaurants offering similar menus, Hy Life Bistro, is a warm and elegant restaurant. They are perfect for large parties and family dining, while at the same time, offering private and quiet areas for business dinners. Having a vast knowledge of the restaurant scene all over the country, owner Sheldon Kane, uses the philosophy of offering a large selection of items catering to every taste, without sacrificing the integrity of any dish.
Rarely seen in the restaurant world, especially in the kosher industry, Sheldon has successfully produced two restaurants, one meat and one dairy in the same building. The fact that Hy Life Bistro and its dairy neighbor, Slice of Life, has been able to prosper, is proof of how well run the two restaurants are. Hy Life Bistro, which is named after Sheldon’s father, Hyman Kane, opened nine years ago. With hand painted walls, decorated with Chagall and Monet prints, this softly-dimmed, contemporary bistro serves the finest cuisine that can best be compared to the top Manhattan restaurants.
Hy Life Bistro has a full service bar with an extensive wine, beer and specialty drink menu. Chef Alfredo Ayala, who cooks for both restaurants and has 25 years of experience offers a variety of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, pasta and fish, along with fabulous poultry, veal and beef entrees. House specialties include their 32 oz. Ribeye Steak that can be served plain, BBQ, peppercorn-crusted or with bordelaise sauce. The Hy’s Rib Steak, another favorite for steak lovers, is an extremely tender cut of beef, grilled to your liking and smothered in their delicious homemade BBQ sauce. Other signature dishes are tender medallions of veal and coconut crusted chicken with seasoned coconut flavors. All entrees are served with your choice of Bistro salad or soup du jour, and a choice of two side dishes, including vesuvio potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and grilled onions, among many others.
End the meal with their warm chocolate, flourless cake with a scoop of ice cream. It’s so outstanding, you won’t believe it’s pareve. |
