Succah On Succot: No Nine Days Menu: Yes Open For Pesach: No
It all started back nine years ago, when owners of Estihana owners went to Asia to do some research and experimenting with kosher ingredients. They wanted to learn more about sushi and Asian dishes and how it can be brought back to the United States, specifically to the kosher market. Their efforts paid off, as the first restaurant of its kind opened on the Upper West Side. Interestingly enough, Estihana gets its name from the fusion of the two cultures: Jewish and Japanese. Estihana derives from the names of the owners’ two young daughters Esther and Hana. Hana also means flower or petal in Japanese.
At Estihana, delicious food will tantalize your tastebuds, while relaxing music will soothe your mind. An authentic sushi bar in the front, a large and colorful fish tank set in the back and beautifully framed posters throughout the restaurant, add to the relaxing dining experience. A popular spot for dates and friends, Estihana is a place you want to visit as often as possible.
The food has that distinct flavor prepared by their world famous Chef Ming, who has over 30 years experience. For the sake of Sushi lovers, they serve fine Japanese sake, hot or cold, plum wine, red and white dry wines and Rashi sparkling wines.
A couple of recommended appetizers are the Beef Satay and Spicy BBQ Wings. The Vietnamese Ginger Chicken and the Asian Pan Seared Tenderloin Steak are exceptional and generous sized entrees. But before you leave, you must order the chocolate explosion- you will think you’re in heaven. As you dine in comfort, enjoying the finest traditions in American hospitality, you will feel that Estihana spirit. |
