Just minutes from downtown Brussels, Pilpel Restaurant is situated in the heart of Uccle, one of Brussels most affluent neighborhoods. The restaurant is located in a quite shopping mall so your visit will be relaxed and comfortable. Since 2003, Pilpel meaning pepper in Hebrew, has given locals and tourists an opportunity to enjoy the finest grilled meat and Mediterranean cuisine as well as traditional Jewish delicacies.
To begin, Pilpel offers a myriad of salads, including Houmos, Tahina, traditional Israeli vegetable salad, Aubergine and Red Peppers salad and warm appetizers like falafel, Moroccan cigars (spicy mince meat in filo pastry) and pastries filled with potatoes and vegetables. For those on the go, pita sandwiches are recommended with choices like Marinated Cubes of Chicken on Skewers, Sausages, Schnitzel, Hamburger and Kebab (spicy mincemeat).
But most people come to dine and savor Pilpel's specialties. The way to go is either order the Mix Grill, a combination of Lamb Cutlets, Sausages, Marinated Cubes of Chicken and Spicy Mincemeat; the Mixed Kebab, 2 skewers of spicy chicken and kebab; the Foie Gras (2 skewers of cubes of goose liver); or enjoy one of the daily featured specials from our classic menu choices. Fish and a kids menu are also offered. Not to be overlooked, is Pilpel's Kosher Wine Selection, one of the best offered by any restaurant in Europe.
Unique in its concept, adjacent to the restaurant is Pilpel's modern Glatt Kosher Lamehadrin Mini market with a fresh and frozen meat department, a full range of hot and cold items and freshly baked pastries. If you are in the area for Shabbat you can enjoy Pilpel's Take-Away-Shabbat Menu. Be sure to order early. The market shop is open from Sun-Thu, 10am-10pm and Friday, 10am-3pm. For anything the market does not have, there is a major supermarket in the complex as well. |
