Dive into deep Italy, as you won’t get more authentic Italian in Paris than the well known, Cine Citta Caffe. What started back in 1992, the cafe was originally located on Rue Reche, with just 21 seats. Owner, Dan “The Boss” Mamoù then moved the cafe to their current location in 1995, right off the corner of 62 Faubourg-Saint-Honoré Street, which happens to be across the street from the Palais de L'Élysée, the official residence of the French President. Rue du Faubourg-Saint-Honoré is the “5th Avenue” of shopping, with stores like Gucci, Cartier and Prada.
Cine Citta was named after the studio movie lot many years ago in Rome Italy, much to like what Hollywood is to America. And this restaurant is a real “hit” among the local diners and tourists, offering generous portions made with the freshest ingredients. The restaurant’s chef, Stephano Fadda, is also the real “deal.” Stephano is from the Mediterranean island of Sardinia, Italy and as a young boy he learned everything, including many recipes, from this mother and father. He is
simply an artist and can do wonders with his hands, providing top-notch authentic Italian cooking for the restaurant.
For appetizers, the Carpaccio de Salmone, thin slices of fresh salmon, arugula, lemon, capers and extra virgin olive oil and the Bruschette alla Romana, slices of toasted bread with diced tomatoes are highly advisable. For true Italian style rissotto, try the Rissotto Tre Funghi, Italian rice with porcini mushrooms, portobello button mushrooms and Parmesan cheese or the Rissotto Del Mare, cubed salmon, corvine, and mahi-mahi with fresh tomato and basil. Of course, one could not pass up the opportunity for real Italian pizza, so go with the Focaccia, baked crust, olive oil, Parmesan and rosemary; or the Napoli, tomato sauce, mozzarella, anchovies, black olives, and capers; or the Four Cheese Pizza. For fish, try the Dover Sole or Sea Bass. |
