Shuie Blau owned a pizzeria for five years in Brooklyn but always wanted to give his customers a taste of what he can do with meat, veal and lamb. So began Palace Grill & Deli. The restaurant is not your typical “deli” and while they have many of your favorite deli selections, the restaurant can be considered an upscale delicatessen. With exceptional service, white tablecloths, and soft cushioned wooden chairs, it is simply elegant dining but food for the whole family. Palace Grill can serve up something like a burger and hot dog with the same elegance and flavor as the variety of steaks they carry. For example, their beer battered hot dog on a stick is not gourmet food, but it looks and tastes good. Ask Sammy Rosen, who left this post on the magazine's message board, “the beer batter hot dog was delicious and I can’t forget about the delicious crispy & zesty Ceaser salad.”
Shuie can always be found working behind the counter and in the kitchen preparing on the spot grilled items to your specifications. He points out that he uses only natural ingredients and is a big supporter of customer service. He will always make sure the customer leaves happy.
For recommendations, try the Rib Eye Kebabs, tender pieces of rib eye, marinated in their signature sauce and the Braised short ribs, perfect pieces of meat cut on premises. Also suggested are the Grilled Baby Lamb Chop with a rosemary pesto sauce and if you’re in the mood for something different, order the Chicken Satay, a thai style chicken grilled and served with cous cous and vegetable. Because they are not your typical deli, they even have sushi, and very good sushi at that. But make sure to leave room at the end of the meal for their chocolate peanut butter mousse, with whipped peanut butter mixed with Belgians’s finest Chocolate in a martini glass.
The restaurant has a large dining area in the back, ideal for private parties. Palace Grill & Deli is certainly a must try if you haven't been there yet. |
