Succah On Succot: No Nine Days Menu: Yes Open For Pesach: No
After the huge popularity and success of their Brooklyn restaurant and the urging of many patrons to open up a second restaurant, owner Nissim Soudry opened up Olympic Pita New York City in the Fall of 2006. Located in the center of midtown, they are conveniently located near all Broadway theatres, Madison Square Garden as well as all transportation. During the week, they are the only kosher restaurant in the area open until midnight, which is very accommodating to the “city that never sleeps.”
While the feel in Brooklyn is family friendly, this location has a more hip and chic look. However, the same fresh taste and flavor that customers are used to in Brooklyn, can be found here as well. Pristine and shiny white tables sparkle together with the colorful wall lights. They have a fully stocked bar in the back and their menu consists of all Middle Eastern specialties. You will find a large variety of shish kebabs, succulent shawarma, over 25 different kinds of homemade salads, homemade laffa bread and desserts. Their falafel is still one of the best you will find and their shawarma sandwiches are huge. They also offer a terrific “Olympic Special” for $12.95 every day, which includes a main course, two hot side dishes of your choice, salads, hot laffa bread and
a drink. And the message boards are heating up with lots of buzz on the new Olympic Pita. It seems the Yemenite soup, Pargit (baby chicken) skewer, fried eggplant, falafel balls and laffa bread are all winners.
For Manhattan offices, you will be pleased to know that the restaurant caters all events of up to 50 people. For lunch, they have an easy-to-use online ordering menu with free delivery so you don’t even have to leave your desk. Even though Olympic Pita New York might be the new-kid-on-the-block, it has a long lasting reputation that will surely satisfy you. |
