After the success of Back to Nature in Brooklyn, Franchise owner, Albert Bijou was looking to spread out. The opportunity presented itself in 2005 when Joey Greenstein came along and recommended the neighboring town of Deal, in Allenhurst, NJ. Joey is the proud owner of this Jersey Shore location and he is very passionate about his restaurant. Greenstein says there is no better feeling in the world when someone tells you that their meal was great. And he knows that only comes with having a great team.
With a track record of proven recipes and a staff that clicks, you’ve got the ultimate experience. This experience of course has to begin with one of their unique starters. Potato filled Israeli Cigars and Black Bean Chili are excellent as is many of their large salads, namely the Back to Natures Salad of lettuce, shredded carrot, beet, daikon and sprouts. As the title of the restaurant states, all their ingredients are natural and healthy. Take for instance the Macro Bowl consisting of organic brown rice, black beans, tofu, steamed vegetables and a garnish of sea vegetable. Sounds good for you, no? And tastes delicious.
They have several sandwiches and wraps which can be served with a choice of different kinds of bread- seven grained sliced, whole wheat wrap, whole wheat pita bread, freshly baked French baguettes or seven grain baguette. For pastas, be sure to try the Penne with broccoli and sun dried tomatoes or the Soba stir fry of buckwheat noodles and vegetables, all stir fried with an Asian sauce. Of course, what natural food eatery would not offer healthy fish entrees. Along with fantastic sushi, recommendations include Grilled Tuna with avocado and roasted corn salsa served with rice pilaf and black beams or try the Walnut coated Tilapia with a lemon sherry sauce.
Ask about their daily dessert specials but most of the time their cheesecake Tiramisu and Toll House Pie, served with a scoop of ice cream is the way to go. And for the road, make sure you take one, two or three, of their 98% fat free muffins which are naturally sweetened. |
