Situated in the middle of Queens and Great Neck, literally off the LIE, lies Patoug Restaurant, a spacious and authentic Persian restaurant. They have been around for over 13 years but it was in the latter part of 2006 that they made the wise choice to turn Glatt Kosher.

The restaurant is set up with decorative flowers on oval and long tables, white tablecloths and handmade antique paintings to set the mood. Owner and chef Peter Samouhi, grew up in Iran surrounded by many restaurants. That experience along with stops in several hotels and restaurants, allows Peter to serve his customers with a knowledgeable and creative touch. They pride themselves with being one of the finest Persian restaurants. Their motto has always been “Think Patoug, Think Quality!” And now that they are strictly Glatt Kosher, they have taken this objective to a Higher Level. You can be rest assured, that when you dine at Patoug, you are truly eating the best.

With a throwback to the traditional Persian style cooking, Patoug has all of the Persian favorites. Shami, cooked potatoes with eggs, seasoning and fried into cutlets and Gondi, ground breast of chicken blended with chickpeas cooked in chicken soup are just a couple of their traditional appetizers. For an extra special taste, order the Torshi, a traditional Persian mix of chopped pickled vegetables, made in their own kitchen.

But everyone comes for their delicious and large sized entrees. Of course, the kebabas combination platter is the most popular, consisting of Barg, Koobideh and Jujeh. They also have some wonderful stews, side rices and desserts. There’s nothing like ending a traditional Persian meal than sipping of some Turkish coffee and having some Zlubia and Bamieh.

Patoug is also known for is their private parties and catering affairs. Seating capacity is 200 people, so they have plenty of room to cater any kind of occasion or event.
