To the owner of 656 Ocean, Donald Epstein: Thank you. Thank you for making the choice to stay open all year round. While many summer restaurants close during the year, 656 Ocean is making themselves available for the entire South Jersey area. And the fact that it’s a great restaurant, makes it even better. With 25-year experienced chef Mike Sibilia, you are surely in good hands. Mike worked in all kinds of restaurants trying to take all of the best dishes and positive things from each establishment to build up his culinary repitoire. But it was a love of cooking at a young age that influenced his cooking. While maintaining the standards of kosher cooking, Mike stays true to himself with a cooking style of authentic Continental cuisine with seasonal fresh foods.

With the ocean just one block away, the restaurant has a sophisticated and contemporary decor with warm colors that gives imbues a cozy feeling. The atmosphere is enhanced with very
friendly service and a menu with something to please everyone. This is a kind of restaurant where you don’t just eat, it’s a place where you dine. The staff at 656 want to not only meet your expectations but to provide that “wow” factor in order to exceed them.

House specialties include the hand-rolled homemade vegetarian Asian spring rolls with fresh mango salsa and the beef brisket with braised red cabbage and apple relish - it’s a traditional dish served with a chef’s flair. Another of Mike’s signature dishes is the Salmon Rollade, a generous portion of salmon steak, wrapped in puff pastry stuffed with baby spinach and roasted red peppers finished with a fresh citrus sauce and sauteed vegetables. And to complete this fantastic meal, be sure to have their fresh homemade apple cobbler served warm, with a side of parve vanilla ice cream. If your spouse, date or friend gets jealous, they can have the warm sweet potato pecan pie served with marshmallow and a fresh cranberry-raspberry coulis.

Whether it’s a special occasion, or simply a night out for a great meal, 656 Ocean is the only place to be in Monmouth County. If you’re anywhere in the area, you owe it to yourself to stop by.
