After achieving a huge success at Cafe Renaissance on Kings Highway, Shaul and Tikvah Ashkenazi wanted to let the people who work, live and shop near Coney Island Avenue and Avenue J enjoy their fantastic cuisine as well. And with the opening this past July, they brought back an old friend to help them do just that.

Chef Gino, one of the finest Italian chefs in Brooklyn, is back home. But you might not recognize him. To the old timers of Cafe Renaissance, who remember Gino, he is looking remarkably well after shedding over 100 pounds. He must be eating healthy. And that’s nice to know about your chef, because Gino only cooks with the finest and healthiest ingredients. Yes, he’s back in the kitchen, hard at work, creating new items for the new restaurant. For instance, the Bruschetta Venezia, which is Crisipini topped with red onion plum tomato, fresh basil and garlic is easy on the pallete as is the Smoky Ocean Venezia, which is a wonderful combination of olives, dates, peanuts all wrapped in smoked salmon.

And one must not forget their authentic brick oven pizzas. Recently, Gino and the restaurant were written up in The Jewish Week Magazine as offering one of the best kosher pizzas in town. The menu also features a variety of terrific pasta and fish dishes that will thrill you, as well as many sushi favorites.

One thing that separates Cafe Venezia from almost all other Brooklyn restaurants is their 2nd floor private room. Very often after patrons eat at their restaurants, Shaul and Tikvah are asked to cater their affairs. And while some can be accommodated in the restaurant, there are always times when a larger room or a more elegant affair is needed. Cafe Venezia has an extremely spacious and elegant 2nd floor that can accommodate up to 120 people. There are not many places in Brooklyn that have the space, decor and ability to satisfy your one-of-a-kind Sheva Brachot, Birthday parties or business conferences. They are, indeed, the ideal place for your special occasion.
