After working in Dougie’s Teaneck for several years and then in his present location, Tzvi Gidalowitz took over the reigns as owner of Dougie’s BBQ & Grill in Deal, NJ. After a year and a half, they have now established themselves as the #1 family-friendly style restaurant in the area. Open all year long and located right behind Norwood Avenue, Dougie’s caters to anyone who likes a big taste. Tzvi is quick to point out that while most people believe “Dougie’s” automatically means grease, fat and fried, they offer an array of health conscious and delicious entrees and appetizers, such as salads, wraps, pasta, etc.

At Dougie’s Deal, everybody is a friend, not just a paying customer. Tzvi’s philosophy on running the restaurant is simply to give the customer a “filling and fulfilling” dining experience. While Dougie’s gets many local residents from Deal and Long Branch, many patrons come from Lakewood, which is just under a 30 minute drive. The casual and calm atmosphere tends to attract many couples on dates, families and friends.

To keep the Dougie’s tradition alive, the portions are huge and the flavor is even bigger. One must start off with their specialty of the house, the famous Buffalo Wings. If you’re in the mood for a good hamburger, they have several juicy, flame broiled sandwiches to choose from and if your appetite calls for steak or chicken, they’ve got that covered too. Don’t be shy, this is not the place to hold back. So if you feel like rolling up your sleeves or loosening your tie, go right ahead.

The restaurant is also available for all kinds of on and off premise catering. They have a private room that can be booked for Sheva Brachot, birthday parties and all fun events.
