Named after a famous coffee house in Iran, Chatanooga Restaurant has been offering authentic Persian cuisine to the Great Neck and surrounding areas for the past 5 years. Owners Manny and Shulamit Refael take pride in their gourmet quality food. For instance, while it’s time consuming to prepare their Persian stews in order for it to marinate, Manny is patient. He guarantees fresh food, free of preservatives and loaded with flavor. With saffron as a main ingredient in Persian cuisine, their delicious kebabs and grilled vegetables are served on
fabulous silver trays. Manny is always looking to add a little “spice” to his servings, making sure his guests feel welcome
and comfortable.

The classy and elegant restaurant is well lit and spacious, with additional sitting to the side, often used for parties and events, which can hold up to 180 people. Chatanooga is very popular amongst the Great Neck residents in catering many of their on and off premise catering, including Sheva Brachot and even barbecues. In the restaurant, tables are always set with fresh flowers and there is a fully stocked bar when you enter. There are about two dozen appetizers and salads to choose from, each one with a distinct flavor. The combination Kabob which consists of 3 skewers of Kabob Kobideh, Barg and Jojeh are very popular. They have terrific basmati rice side dishes, including one flavored with sour cherries, one with orange rind julienne and another with tangy little red currants. If it’s your first time at the restaurant, make sure to order one of their stews. They’re quite unique.

For lunch, they offer a fantastic special of eight different healthy wraps, including Chicken, Shawarma, Falafel and Beef together with French fries, soup and drink for less than $10. They’re two blocks from the LIRR and just a block off busy Middle Neck Road. After 6pm, municipal parking is available.
