Tierra Sur Restaurant at Herzog Wine Cellars is Chef Todd Aarons' second incarnation of Mediterranean influenced seasonal cuisine, this time utilizing California's local produce with Spanish/Mexican culinary traditions. Todd, along with his well trained staff, shop local farmer's markets in Oxnard and seek the best offerings of each season. Los Angeles Times food critic S. Irene Virbila has called Tierra Sur, "one of the best restaurants in Ventura County and has written "who would think that inside a winery in an Oxnard industrial park, there's a chef passionate enough about grilling that he's not only grilling massive rib-eye steaks, he's giving Cornish game hens, trout and even mustard and juniper encrusted venison a dose of wood smoke?"

The patio features the wood burning grill and fireplace, where these menu offerings and more such as pomegranate marinated lamb and wild king salmon are cooked over the open fire. The lunch menu includes Anson mills organic corn tortillas made in Tierra Sur's kitchen and stuffed with tantalizing fillings such as birria, chili braised lamb with salsa cruda and grilled achiote marinated red snapper with green tomatillo salsa. The restaurant features an open kitchen that offers patrons an intimate insight to the sounds, sights and aromas of Tierra Sur's kitchen. On a beautiful temperate night enjoy sitting on the outdoor patio located just outside the large glass doors from the main dining room.

Lunch and dinner Wine Tasting two to three course meals are the real appeal of the menu at Tierra Sur, excellently paired by the winemaker and the chef. These meals offer intimate dining parties their own wine tasting with the choice of one wine by the glass for each course. This beautiful new setting is also available for private parties and in-house catering. Inside this recently built state-of-the art winery, home to Herzog's award-winning wines, is a lavish, warm inviting space including a beautiful wine tasting room complete with chic stylish merchandise. Enjoy samples of Baron Herzog varietals and Reserve wines as well as new offerings from renowned winemaker Joe Hurliman. Enjoy the restaurant's wine list that includes exclusive Herzog vintage reserve wines from their own cellars.
