Now entering its 17th year, China Kikar Tel Aviv, has been a mainstay for Miami Beach locals and visitors alike. They are the only Chinese kosher restaurant in town, while serving a wide variety of American dishes as well. Chinese-born owner, Bonnie Poon, has been in the restaurant business his whole life and amazingly spent 15 years living in Israel owning a Chinese restaurant there. In fact, he named the Miami Beach establishment after Kikar Dizenkof in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.

Kikar Tel Aviv has everything one can wish for. It is friendly and spacious and centrally located in the heart of Miami Beach, right off the boardwalk. For customers staying in the Carriage Club North or neighboring hotels on Shabbat, you can prepay for your Friday Night and Shabbat afternoon meals and enjoy a full authentic Shabbat buffet meal. But definitely call ahead because reservations go very fast. If you choose to eat at home or at your hotel, they also have an enormous take out menu, consisting of meat or chicken, cold cuts, fish, soup, salads and plenty of side orders. They are open all week long during the Fall, Winter and Spring months and only on Shabbat during the Summer.

As in many Miami Beach restaurants, they feature an Early Bird Special from 4-6pm (Mon-Thu). They have several kid selections as well as a very reasonably priced combination dinner which includes soup, egg roll, entree and dessert. The restaurant also offers fish and vegetarian dishes. Whether at the buffet or a la carte, the Chinese and continental dishes are bountiful and flavorful. Take for instance the BBQ Ribs, Sze-Chuan Honey Beef and Crispy Duck.

Because of their large size and experience, they can accommodate all your private parties and functions on and off premises. If you’re in the Miami Beach area, your first choice should, undoubtedly, be China Kikar Tel Aviv.
