ABOUT Shanghai Diamond Garden

With a fully stocked liquor bar in the center, a massive sushi bar to the side and sporting three large dining rooms (one of them pictured above), Shanghai Diamond Garden is an extremely spacious and well run establishment. Being one of the only Chinese meat restaurants in the Pico-Robertson area, Shanghai has welcomed its Chinese and sushi-loving patrons, ever since their November 2004 opening. The word has definetely spread about the affordable prices, large portions, friendly service and delicious cuisine at Shanghai. In fact, loyal customers like Suzanne Sarto who was sitting with her daughter-in-law, Karen and baby Yaacov, say that this restaurant is only one of a few restaurants that you can feel relaxed and comfortable. Furthermore, a post on the magazine’s message board from N.

[continued above, right]

Neuman states: “Living next to Los Angeles I never get a chance to check out all of the restaurants because I can't stop myself from going back to Shanghai. Their food service is a pleasure. I am impressed every time I return. A definite winner.” A regular sight of busloads of Chinese tourists is another sign that restaurant is as authentic as can be. As the 2005 Zagat Survey writes: “Decorated with lots of red and gold to evoke the Golden Age of Chinese American restaurants this Century City glatt kosher Asian restaurant is attracting crowds of Modern Jews who come not only for dishes such as Hunan Chicken and Crispy Duck, but also for the sushi bar, which offers the usual fare minus shellfish.”

This is a great address, for sure. Food is great. Prices are very reasonnable (10$-15$ entries), very clean and fresh. I wish they add desserts and, even better, asian desserts, like in France kosher Asian restaurants.

It was a very nice, comfortable place to dine. But one thing, the food is not as traditional as a non kosher chinese restaurant.Like "Twin Dragon" down the street. Very reasonable price ,great quality ,and over all magnificent place to dine!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried several times on Friday to contact the restaurant to request reservations for a party of ten for Sunday, Feb. 5 at 12 noon. Preferably a round table. The phone rang incessantly with no one answering. Very frustrating..........and this started at 11 am, again at 12 noon, and again midafternoon. No one answers your phone.
That's not a good business practice.
