The Jewish Week's GRAND WINE TASTING
March 14, from 1 to 5 p.m. at City Winery, a wine bar and winemaking facility in Tribeca.
The event is open to the public and is expected to attract more than 500 participants. A select group of New York sommeliers, restaurateurs and wine writers will participate in the tasting; they helped to create the inaugural list of top wines. Pomegranate, the kosher gourmet grocery store in Flatbush, Brooklyn, will supply a half-dozen dips.
City Winery is located at 155 Varick St. Tickets are $35 in advance by clicking here or $40 at the door. For information, call (212) 608-0555. Note that the restaurant at the City Winery is not kosher.

i went last night with my family to mikes bistro and we really loved it. i started with the duck gnocchi which is to die for it was delicious another wonderful entree which i had was the potatoes and corned beef which was also awesome. For the main i had the boneless short ribs which was the most softest cut of meat i have ever tried. it was out of this world the side of mashed potatoes were also superb. for desert i had the warm apple annie which was unbelievable and i tried some of my wifes choclate pecan pie as well as some choclate fondue. then the owner himself came to our table for a little shmooze and he summoned one of the waiters to bring us his ice cream/sorbet sampler on the house which was also very good. all in all i had a wonderful time the service was extremely fast and very courteous. i will definetely be back there again.

I dine at M weekly, and I believe they are open now for lunch. Finally and long overdue, Manhattan quality food and service has come to Brooklyn. I tend to opt for a steak, but I have tried the Sea Bass and Salmon as well. Sometimes they run a grilled Game Hen special, ask about it. I give it a thumbs up.... just get there early.

Last year, I enjoyed a great Passover Seder dinner at Talia's Steakhouse located on Amsterdam ave. between 92nd/93rd st. Talia's offers an amazing 4 course Passover 2010 seder dinner and my family and I already reserved a table of eight. very disappointed...bread was tough, food was bland and there was no atmosphere. the potatoes in one of the salads were raw - none of the salads were good. also ordered the lamb and it was disappointing. we were also lied to by the door man when we asked if they played live music at the restaurant. he said there would be music later that night. once seated we asked the waitress who said they never have music. owner came to greet us but was very unfriendly. -- don't waste your money on Darna! Jerusalem is a big city, find another place to eat.

Horrible service, no atmosphere. I went there with my wife, and wanted to treat her to a night out. What we got was bad food, over $100 for 2 people (and we didn't even get appetizers), and slow service. To top it all off, it looks like a fast food joint, with ugly plastic seating...

I love this place!! It's truly Oxnard's best kept
secret. The staff is always so very pleasant to my wife and I, and Chef Tod Arron is truly a master chef. This cat can really put it down. If you've never ate at Tierra Sur you are missing out on some very fine cusine. If you are looking for a romantic place for dinner with great food, this is the place to go.
