Which area? Gusto Va Mare and Il Patrizio in Manhattan both have terrific food and very nice ambiance.
In Boro Park, Brooklyn, recommendations are Orchidea and Avenue Plaza Dining and in Flatbush you have Bertolinis, Sea Dolphin and Tea for Two- all excellent choices.

Had a great meal at Sea Dolphin tonight. Delicious warm garlic pita bread to start with, Penne alla Vodka was amazingly creamy, the Tiramisu cake was soft and tasty and without a doubt, the best cappuccino in the world.
