Sea Dolphin is under new ownership Submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Mar 25th 2008 As you can see below, the word is out that Sea Dolphin is going to re-open with new owners. Stay tuned for more details.
Vaqueiro Submitted by: Raphy Solomon on Mar 25th 2008 Unfortunately...one of the very worst meals I have ever eaten in a restaurant. The service luckluster at best, the meat tough, stringy and inedible, the decor lousy...the wait for the next piece of cremated Korbon Olah a disgrace.
Sorry...but it is what it is. No wonder we were the only table in the joint.
Sea Dolphin Reopens soon !!! Submitted by: lilly on Mar 25th 2008 New management can only improve and bring this place to the high standard it deserves, hope its a breath of fresh air to the kosher community, everyone deserves a new start.
Sea Dolphin Submitted by: miriam on Mar 25th 2008 service was never great there under the old owners but the food always made up for it, hopefully this time they will find the right formula for customer satisfaction and success.
VHQ certification is imperative, a good attitude and great food, already an amazing atmosphere with all the beautiful artwork, thats all the customer asks for. GOOD LUCK to the new ownership.
Sea Dolphin Reopening Submitted by: steven on Mar 25th 2008 Reopening after a rocky start, the place is probably one of the most beautiful ive ever seen, its screams ART, good atmosphere, food was always great, hope they have gotten all their kinks ironed out, promises to be much much better under the new management, looking forward to going back:)

SEA DOLPHIN KOSHER RESTAURANT Submitted by: erick on Mar 25th 2008 SEA DOLPHIN HAS NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH KASHRUS, THEY MISTAKENLY DECIDED TO SWITCH TO BUCHARIAN COUNCIL WHICH WAS NOT A WISE BUSINESS DECISION, I HEARD THAT THEY ARE NOW UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT AND THAT THE NEW OWNERS INTEND TO BRING VHQ BACK.
WISH THEM GOOD LUCK, AS THIS IS A GREAT RESTAURANT WITH EXCELLENT FRESH FOOD DAILY(AMAZING FISH), THEY DESERVE A SECOND CHANCE.
SEA DOLPHIN KOSHER RESTAURANT Submitted by: youngjew11234 on Mar 25th 2008 THE SEA DOLPHIN KOSHER RESTAURANT IN FLUSHING,NY HAS BEEN GOING THRU MAJOR CHANGES SINCE ITS OPENING 4 MONTHS AGO, THE RESTAURANT WAS CLOSED FOR A PERIOD OF 3 WEEKS RECENTLY DUE TO BEING TAKEN OVER BY NEW MANAGEMENT. IT IS PLANNING TO REOPEN ON SUNDAY MARCH 30TH. IT PROMISES TO BE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ENVIRONMENT, CONTINUING WITH ITS FINE TRADITION OF GOOD FOOD, ONLY THIS TIME, OPERATED BY A GROUP OF YOUNG PROFESSIONALS. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO VISIT THE RESTAURANT AND SAMPLE THEIR NEW MORE REFINED WAYS AND ATTITUDE. THEY EXTEND THIER DEEPEST APOLOGIES FOR THE PAST MISTAKES AND POOR ATTITUDE OF THE PREVIOUS OWNERS AND MANAGEMENT.
THEY WILL HOPEFULLY ALSO HAVE KOSHER CERTIFICATION FROM VHQ BY THE TIME OF THIER OPENING.
A NEW START TO A ROCKY BEGINING, LETS WISH THEM LUCK.

Hess The Sausage King Submitted by: zelda /Leon Harris on Mar 23rd 2008 Although we keep kosher but also eat out at restaurants without a hechsher,we find the attachment of "kosher lemehadrin" product which relates to Hazir, shenkein or bacon obscene.
Theres a limit to which secular Jews go as far as pork products are concerned. The thought of something tasting like bacon is appalling and I would NEVER buy a kosher product which likens itself. If Haredi jews need that then we know how hypocritical our religious observance really is.
Reply #1 submitted by: allison... T FUSION STEAK on Mar 25th 2008 I DO NOT AGREE TO THE BASHING OF HAREDI JEWS TRYING TO KEEP KOSHER. THE FACT IS THAT PRODUCTS ARE AVAILABLE THAT MIMICK NON KOSHER .... IN FACT, I APPLAUD THOSE THAT STAY WITHIN THEIR BOUNDARIES AND DONT HAVE TEMPTATION TO EAT AT NON KOSHER PLACES. WHY NOT APPLAUD THEIR DECISION. I ACTUALLY FIND THAT MANY FOODS INCLUDING MEATS, THAT ARE PRESENTED AS MOCK FILET MIGNON GIVES US THE OPPORTUNITY TO TASTE DIFFERENT CULTURAL FOODS. LETS FACE IT....YEARS AGO YOU HAD A HANDFUL OF KOSHER RESTAURANTS THAT REALLY WERE JUST BLAH.....WE ARE A PROUD NATION...THE PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING(AS THE SAYING GOES) LOOK AT WHAT ASTONISHING INCREASE IN GOOD KOSHER RESTAURANTS OF MULTI CHOICES HAVE OPENED THEIR DOORS AND FEATURE DELECTABLE DISHES AND YET "KOSHER". THAT TO ME IS NOT BEING HYPOCRITICAL...AS A MATTER OF FACT ITS SOMETHING YOU AS A JEW...SHOULD BE PROUD OF.

Eilat Cafe Submitted by: Sam on Mar 22nd 2008 Food is excellent; atmosphere lacking. Salmon of the angels is delicious and the lunch portion is huge. Spouse loved the baked ziti with eggplant. Prices kind of high, but we'll go there again to sample other dishes.

Sea Dolphin Submitted by: Ellen on Mar 16th 2008 The Sea Dolphin recently changed Kosher certification and it has been closed. ( I have no idea why) Also note that the Bucharian certification in the window expires on March 31, 2008. I would suggest that anyone interested in going to this restaurant call before they come to Queens.
