Coifiocchi at 9477 Harding in Surfside (305-866-7415) and China Kikar Tel Aviv at 5005 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach (305-866-3316) will both be open for Seders and Chol Hamoed.
And I believe Grill Time at 16145 Biscayne Blvd (786-274-8935) and La Valentina in the Aventura Mall (305-705-1686) will be open for Chol Hamoed. All terrific restaurants.
You can see more information about all of them on this website.
Visit www.Coifiocchi.com for their detailed passover menu as well. Chag Sameach.

According to the 2 biggest rabbinical supervison agencies in LA, only these 2 are open.

Thanks J. Frenkel, for your post. Looking for a casual place to dine for me and some friends during this Pesach.

What are the prices like at Simon's La Glatt?

-Thanks in advance,

listings?
Submitted by: Debi on Apr 17th 2005
I'm also confused about the listings. I was looking at Shari's in NJ, but there was no town in the address. Where is it? NJ is a state, not a city and I have never heard of Shari's. Would it be possible to put the complete address and phone number in the contact information?
Reply to this message
Reply #1 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Apr 17th 2005
In terms of the address, if there is a city that does not have many restaurants, we will FIRST list that restaurant by state. For instance, Shari's is in Atlantic City and they are the only restaurant in Atlantic City we have, so instead of having a drop down box for only Atlantic City or for Vauxhall, NJ in Mosaica's case, we thought it would easier to navigate the "Search by Location" box to just have New Jersey as the primary location.

However, if you noticed, if you click onto any restaurant or it's picture, you will get the entire address, city and even cross streets.
And I'm glad to hear that you discovered Shari's Steakhouse from our website, it happens to be an excellent restaurant.

Thank you for your input and keep those comments coming. Trust me, I don't mind.

what is the criteria to be listed
Submitted by: Debi on Apr 17th 2005
I have noticed that this web site in incomplete. There are many good restaurants that are not listed. For example. Sushi Mitsuyan in Cedarhurst is listed but not the one in Teaneck (which is the original and still the best place in Teaneck unless you are a fleischaholic) as is the one in Queens. I guess my question is what is the criteria or how do you find out about restaurants?

Thank you Debi for your interest.

The fact is that the website is a complement to the print version of the Great Kosher Restaurants Magazine- and the restaurants do pay a small fee to be listed. So while we would like to have every single restaurant listed in the magazine and consequently on our website (give us a year or so to accomplish that), we are only featuring the restaurants that have signed up with us. By the way, other criteria to be listed is that they have to be Shomer Shabbas, Glatt Kosher and a 99% of the time have waiter service.

While I respectfully disagree with your comment about the website being incomplete (keep in mind that it has over 100 kosher restaurants), if you think there is a restaurant that would be interested let us know or the restaurant know about us.

The fact still remains that our website is probably the nicest kosher restaurant website ever developed and we take pride in that. Nothing against the other websites or publications for that matter, but 95% of them read like a yellow pages. And we wanted to go far away from that, by having each restaurant's color photo, menu and write-up featured. And since that takes a lot of time and effort, that is another reason why we can't just list every single restaurant.

Once again thank your for your interest.

It is actually imitation crab. It should say that on the menu. All the sushi kosher restaurants serve it.

Mazel Tov Galina,

Which location were you looking for?
Take a look at our home page, which lists all the restaurants that have private party rooms?

But, Ranoosh Restaurant & Catering in Brooklyn has a nice big catering hall that can accomodate a lot of cool stuff (Live entertainment, games & arcades). Any of the "Chosen" restuarants in Queens, Five Towns or Great Neck as well as Colbeh in Great Neck are also very good choices. Many restaurants in Manhattan have party rooms, but call me at 718-253-9210 so I can give you more specifics.

Hi-I recently was at your restaurant when I visited Florida, the meal was amazing! You do a wonderful job, the food is great, the restaurant is clean, and the service is excellent! I live in Michigan and we hardly have any Kosher restaurants down here, would you ever think about opening a Coifiocchi Ristorante down here? You can e-mail me back at SugarpieStar12@aol.com. The Abigael's chef, Jeff Nathan, will be hppy to make you the garlic salmon whenver you'd like. The ingredients are always available, so just make a special request with your waiter, or the manager.

Mine is simple- sautee onions, eggplant, peppers add hard boiled egg, and mix on laffa bread with chummas (and tehina combo) and amba. Did you come up with anything?

We had a birthday celebration at this fine restaurant. We were a group of 16 on a Sunday mid-afternoon. The staff was extrememly attentive to our service. We enjoyed an intimate, leisurely meal. All of our guests raved about the food. We highly recommend this place. It is expensive, but it is worth it.

Good Kosher Chinese Restaurant
Submitted by: Tzipporah on Mar 3rd 2005
Does anyone know of a good kosher chinese restaurant on staten island or either Bklyn or Manhattan?
Thanks

Reply #1 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Mar 8th 2005
In terms of Manhattan, there is only one true Chinese resturant- which would be Eden Wok on 72nd Street and Columbus Ave.
For Brooklyn, if you're in the Marine Park area I highly recommend Shang Chai. In Midwood, Moshi Moshi is technically a Japanese restaurant but they serve many Chinese dishes and the Sesame Chicken happens to be outstanding. And if you're in Borough Park, then China Glatt is for sure the best place to go to. Not sure about Staten Island. Enjoy.

Reply #2 submitted by: StatenIslandHunny on Apr 26th 2005
There is no kosher Chinese on SI since Yum Yum Glatt closed. The closest place to SI is Elizabeth NJ which has excellent chinese.
