You have Shang Chai on Flatbush Avenue, in the Marine Park area. They consistently serve very good food and they are an established and classic chinese restaurant.
If you are in the Borough Park area, may I suggest China Glatt on 13th Avenue. They also have terrific food and they have sushi as well (Shang Chai does not). China Glatt also has more variety, with interesting and exciting dishes.
You can see their pictures, menus, write-ups on this website. Enjoy.

Wolf and Lamb Steakhouse
Submitted by: Elan G on Jun 28th 2005
I took my girlfriend out here recently and scored major points!!! The place had this guy playing this funky flamenco music. The steaks were aged and great! The staff are more laid back and friendly then some of the other steakhouses in the city i've been to but very warm and welcoming! p.s. rockefeller center is a great place for a post date stroll!

Abigael's was wonderful!
Submitted by: nm on Jun 22nd 2005
A non-Jewish friend and I went out to dinner last night. We both have the same very specific food needs, i.e., no sugars. My friend had this salad that was like a piece of art! And I had the house salad (sans currants), both were outstanding! They were very accommodating and gave us roasted skin on potatoes with no sauce. Plus our boneless rib eye steaks done medium-rare were perfect! It was truly a fabulous evening.

Greenbush Bakery is not orthodox kosher. It's under supervision of the conservative rabbi.
There are no kosher restaurants in Madison.
Kosher Meat Club is a grocery with a small deli in back.
Le Parve is only a bakery.
Sherman Perk is only a cofee shop (as is kletch perk)
I'm not sure the Oasis still exists.
In short, Wisconsin is not the place to be if you are looking for kosher restaurants. On the other hand, there is a ton of great hospitality and you can almost assuredly arrange a meal with a kosher family through the local orthodox synagogue.
There is good news on the horizon though, I hear the JCC in Whitfish Bay is putting in a true kosher cafe slated to open in 2006

There is a newly opened kosher meat restaurant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin called Cafe Osher. Their website is www.cafeosher.com

Talia's Steakhouse
Submitted by: Foodie on Jun 19th 2005
This was an awful experience, and repeated attempts to contact the restaurant, which heralds its wish for "feedback," availed nothing. Clearly no one cares. The service was abysmal, the salmon appetizer not prepared or presented as described, the fish entree pallid and tasteless, the fries quickly cold, and the martini, at a whopping $15, the most expensive of any comparable kosher restaurant. The steaks were fine, but little consolation. Take a pass on this place and go to Le Marais.

We had a reservation and were kept waiting for 30 minutes. They handed us a basket of bread when we went to wash, and we waited quite some time for a glass of water. I won`t be going there even if you paid me to.

Mike's Bistro
Submitted by: Foodie on Jun 19th 2005
After hearing some positive comments, we ventured to make dinner reservations with a friend who does not keep kosher. We had an extremely disappointing experience, from the agonizingly slow service--there was only one other table occupied--to the overcooked steak, which went back once adn returned only slightly improved, the fatty lamb, and the sparse sweetbreads. The black bass was excellent, the only positive note for the evening. It is my unhappy experience that kosher restaurants just don't care to get it right consistently because they have a captive audience.

Tea for Two South
Submitted by: Barry L on Jun 16th 2005
I ate here last week for the first time. This is the first place that I have tasted sushi and enjoyed it. Everyone must try their sushi especially Crunchy and Abracadabra. My friends ate the Italian food, stuffed sole and a pasta with spinach and cream sauce. They loved it. And for dessert we had fried banana with ice cream, Wow! And the servers were rather friendly and accomodating, which is rare for a kosher restaurant in Miami, based on my experiences.

Ranoosh Long Branch
Submitted by: Gary Teaman on May 31st 2005
This restaurant is an adventure in eating for lovers of authentic middle eastern cuisine. The appetizers are all delicious, I would highly recommend the kibbe and the hummous for dipping the fresh pita. The Ranoosh Salad offers a huge portion of fresh chopped salad with a flavorful dressing. When we can't decide among the entrees, we enjoy the mixed grill, but the shwarma is also very tasty and highly recommended. On a recent Saturday night the restaurant opened Motzei Shabbos at 9:45pm (when most of Monmouth County is getting ready for bedtime), and quicky filled up with some large parties of young professionals from Deal, as well as some couples on dates. Some people were trying out the hookah pipes that are on the menu with a selection of flavored tobaccos. The service is attentive and friendly, the Mashgiach took care that our wine (BYOB) was handled properly. A very nice dining experience.

I have been debating to categorize the restaurants by just Los Angeles as well, so I agree and it's been taken care of already.
In terms of Pat's, we hope to have the restaurant in the next issue of the magazine coming out in August. (Keep in mind, all the restaurants on the website are signed up for the magazine)
