www.OlympicPita.com NYC
Submitted by: Erick Cohen on Dec 25th 2006
The best falafel and schwarma in New York City. Olympic Pita is a popular and affordable neighborhood establishment with friendly and casual service.
Olympic Pita, with great food and wonderful hospitality, has been “The Place to Eat.”

RABBINICAL SUPERVISION
Glatt Kosher OU

www.Olympicpita.com - ORDER ON-LINE and they have a Bar.

The light and tender schwarma, consisting of 15 different spices, is a “succulent Yemenite-Israeli poultry” and the “flavorful amalgam of lamb and turkey is sliced off the spit and rolled into a pita.” You can also choose to have it served in your complimentary warm sesame-seeded lafah straight from a clay oven specially brought from Israel. The “blistered and blackened bread” is “resilient enough to contain the juicy, flavorful meat and awesome sauces- a dangerously spicy, cilantro based zhoug and a sweet-and-sour mango condiment called amba.” Other highlights are their falafels, Moroccan Cigars and Iraqi Kabob.

Olympic Pita has 24 kinds of salads that are made daily with the guarantee that nothing is left over- the cole slaw and eggplant salads are especially good. The meats and chicken are all prepared on the premises to control the freshness. From noon until closing, you can take advantage of a wonderful Olympic Special consisting of, salad a main course and 2 side dishes for only $12.99.

Although the other restaurants in the Chosen chain are quite good, this one is inferior to its predecessor in Great Neck. The previous decor was nicer, and more importantly, the food was much better.was much better.

As the owner of the chain of Cho-Sen restaurants it is important for me to know what we can do to make your experience more positive. I would hope you will give us the opportunity to make it up to you on your next visit. Thank you and my sincere apologies for your less than "Cho-Sen" experience.

We are never disappointed at ChoSen Village. The food is always great & the service is really wonderful. We think this restaurant is one of the best in the NY area.

Dairy King
Submitted by: jensays on Dec 20th 2006
This has become one of my absolute favorites! Terrific, huge omelets - try the one with grilled vegetables. Waitresses who are polite, friendly and helpful. This is a genuine old fashioned dairy restaurant, a place you can be comfortable going to with your parents, grandparents, anybody. It's a place where I can meet my vegetarian non-frum friends for brunch.

Bari Fish Restaurant
Submitted by: Laurie Stambler on Dec 20th 2006
One can not go just once to Bari Fish. As soon as you enter, you know you are in a special place. The smell and the ambiance make you feel that you are in a small Mediterranean village. The staff was friendly and helpful. The service was flawless.
To attest to the fact that I love this restaurant is the fact that I have been there several times, and I do not live close by.

The Starters are so unique and delicious. They put small ramekins on the table with a selection of dips and spreads made from eggplant, cucumber and yogurt, hummus to put on oven toasted pitas. The two salads that I have had were the Bari salad and the Crispy Feta. I loved them both. The spices and textures, as well as the freshness of the ingredients are what set this restaurant apart. I have also had the tomato parmesan soup, which I have tried to make at home, but could not make as well as them.

Now to the fish. You can not get fish that is fresher. I have had the Roasted Salmon and the Crispy Bass. My husband has had the whole fish grilled. We both have never experienced such tasty fish ever!

The desserts are all made in the restaurant by a pastry chef and they are the perfect ending to a truly great meal. You no longer have to go into the City to have a great dining experience. Once this restaurant gets into Zagat, there will be lines out the door.

Just returned from a conference at the Hilton and we had our kosher food in cancun set up by chabad of cancun, it was a true delight. I was amazed that they had cholov yisrael available, and glatt kosher meat. I did not think cancun was the place to find that.

We also joind their minyan for shabbat which was an inspiration, to meet jews from so many diffrent places. However, it was not in a shul, it was in the rabbi's home but a very warm and freindly place to feel jewish.

Best of luck,

Nancy and Ed

There is a great place at Marina Aquafun just in front of our hotel (OMNI) it is a shop where you can find cholov yisrael, pas israel and Glatt Kosher meat. They have available amazing meals, best kosher food ever.

Reply #5 submitted by: meilech goldwasser on Jun 22nd 2008
it seems like the place across the omni has closed, if i understand correctly the reason that kosher place closed down is because walmart and costco where selling the same products for much better prices so it did not do well.
as a frequent traveler to cancun i think it is hard to have a kosher business there as the kosher market is very seasonal. I davened at chabad my last trip, and the place was packed, i asked the rabbi if this is what the crowed looks like every shabbos he said that only 4 months a year does it number in the 60 or 70 people a shabbos.
anyway, i will keep you posted on my next trip in august.

Reply #6 submitted by: Nathan Davidov on Jul 15th 2008
Im am from Brasil, the Place in front of the OMNI is Kosher Solutions (www.koshercancun.com)and is not closed, in fact I find things were not available in Walmart and Costco you can order all that you need and they get it for you, They are frequently delivering food in the hotels, I always reach them by phone or email. I spend a great vacation because of them.

Bertoluccis Ristorante

Went to Bertolucci's yesterday - 8 of us including 4 children, aged 5 - 13. A very enjoyable experience! The waitstaff was attentive. The food was good - enjoyed by all. It was tasty, hot (when it was supposed to be) and served in a timely fashion. Even my husband, a meat and potatoes guy, enjoyed the dairy Italian specialties.

The Purple Pear

I am sitting in Purple Pear right now. I told the guy who seated me that I am in a rush and 10 minutes later I am still waiting for a waiter to come take my order!

In general the food here is good, if missing salt sometimes. The service in my experience has never been good here.
