NEED passover seder in New Jersey
Submitted by: Robin B on Mar 14th 2007
My grandparents can cook or travel far (I can't make the seder). We need to find a restaurant where we can enjoy passover as a family. CDoes anyone have suggestions? We are not all religous, but want to be together.

The best bet would be in Manhattan. The following restaurants can host your seder at their restaurant: Abigael’s; Haikara Grill; Le Marais; Levana; Mendy’s (34th Street); Park East Grill;
(Village Crown ToGo-Delivery only)

See a few posts below for more details and check out our menu section on the home page for each of their Passover menus for full and complete details

while the food may be good when sitting in this place- DO NOT EVER ORDER from there:
1. first of all - the guy never understand what we are ordering and we have to say everything at least twice
2. when the food finally arrived AFTER MORE THEN AN HOUR it was cold and un eatable
3. when we called to coplain the owner said we were just trying to get free food
WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT???!!!

We are looking for a good dairy or meat restaurant near the theater area of new york city.
Reply to this message
Reply #1 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Mar 9th 2007
We'll start with dairy since that's the easiest. The only real nice dairy restaurant in the theater district is My Most Favorite Food, on 45th, bet. 6th & Broadway.

For meat, you have Le Marais on 46th & Broadway, Abigael's on Broadway & 39th or Colbeh on 39th & 6th.

For all who have an appetite for gefilte fish or for all who wants to see others chow down, there will be a "Gefilte Fish Eating Contest" tomorrow afternoon, March 9th, at 1:00pm at Essex on Coney - 1359 Coney Island Ave. - Between Avenues J & K (718-253-1002).

Can you beat last year's winner Aaron Huber, who ate 3 pounds of gefilte fish in 4 minutes, 15 seconds? This year's winner will be awarded with a trip from travel agency "New Tours" for two people to a resort in the Czech Republic with many other gift certificates. Organized by Producer Alex Gutmacher and committee of the 4th Annual Jewish Heritage festival. Borough President will be "Master of Ceremonies."

For anyone who has family or loved ones ill at this time of year, it might make things a little easier to know that Le Marais is able to deliver Passover seder meals to any Manhattan hospital. Of course, preordering is necessary by fax with cc.

NEED A KOSHER BRUNCH RESTAURANT IN QUEENS OR NASSAU COUNTY
Reply to this message
Reply #1 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Feb 23rd 2007
Dairy is probably the way to go, so for the 5 Towns, you have either Pescado or Bari Restaurant.
For Queens, you can go to Cafe Muscat or Kosher Corner.
And for Great neck, Natali's Place is the best choice. Enjoy.

Ruthie's on Central Ave. in Cedarhurst is a wonderful innovative dairy restaurant great for any meal, particularly brunch

In Queens, Kosher Corner is a great choice. The service is not excellent, but the food is!

Today I had my mother's 82 surprise birthday party at Pescado and I couldn't have picked a better place. The food was outstanding, the portions were ample and the service was wonderful. The staff went out of its way to make this day memorable for my mother and all of our guests. We will be returning to Pescado in the near future!

I noticed that some stores are smart enough to have online ordering from their websites. Glatt Ala Carte, Back to Nature, Different Twist Cafe, etc. I was wondering what some of your readers think of this. I actually have a friend who does this kind of work. Anyway, looking for some responses.
