Bari Fish Restaurant
Submitted by: Frieda on Sep 26th 2007
From the ambiance, to the personal, to the food our night kept getting better and better. All the appetizers, and entrees sound so good. I kept eating even after I was full because it was all to good not to eat. This was my first time at Bari and I am looking forward to going back so that I can taste everything else the menu.

there's a wait because the food is so good that it's packed. you're just annoyed because you are cheap and didn't want to spend on a truly enjoyable meal

Las Vegas Restaurant
Submitted by: Myriam on Sep 20th 2007
What has happened to Shalom Hunan Restaurant in Las Vegas no longer listed on your website but still in my 2007 copy of your magazine? Are there any more restaurants or deli's opening in Las Vegas in the near future?

Reply #1 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Sep 20th 2007
Shalom Hunan took away their hashgacha and is no longer kosher - that is why they were removed from the site. The owner of Cleopatra's, which was opened for a few months but then closed, is looking soon to open a deli closer to the strip.

All sold out. We had plenty at the start of the year but all gone.

We do have 3 left for Chatanooga in Great Neck (not that far) and we have Natali’s Place in GN (dairy) at 50% off.

Or may I highly suggest going to Eden Wok in New Rochelle (only 25 minutes from Queens).

Very nice place and a large discount.

30th B.Day Dinner
Submitted by: Amy on Sep 17th 2007
Hi, I am looking for a meat restaurant for my husbands 30th B.Day. I want a private room for about 30 to 40 people. It can be in either Manhattan, Brooklyn or Queens. Any suggestions?
Reply to this message
Reply #1 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Sep 17th 2007
Let's start with Queens b/c that's pretty easy. Cho-Sen Garden is you're best bet, b/c they have a private party room. For Brooklyn, you have Glatt a la Carte in Borough Park.

And for Manhattan, you have many choices and I'm not sure what you want to spend, but you can go with Abigael's, Prime Grill, Solo, La Carne, Le Marais or Mike's Bistro.

Reply #2 submitted by: Amy on Sep 18th 2007
I do not want to spend more than $1500. Do you think any of the city restaurants will be able to work with my budget. I also want a trendy place. Have you seen the room at Prime Grill? I have been to La Carne...I have seen the area, but it did not seem so private. I want to be able to have a "roast" (people telling funny stories and such), so I do not want others to be able to see the party...or just be in the corner of a restaurant. I want a REAL private room. Any ideas?

Reply #3 submitted by: Elan Kornblum, Publisher on Sep 18th 2007
Well, it depends on whether you want 30 or 40 people. 40 people for $1500 is pushing it, especially when you include the tax and tip. 30 is doable for $1500. I'll send out an email to the restaurants above with a REAL private room to see which one can do it. What's your email address and phone number? You can email it to me if you don't want to publicize it.

Prime Grill New York
Submitted by: Maureen on Sep 17th 2007
We just learned that Prime Grill requires that for parties of 12, that the reservation be held with a $2500 minimum, and that $2500 be spent! And that's without tax and tip! It seems incredible that a restaurant would require its patrons to spend at least $208 each!!! What a shame that large groups are discouraged from dining at Prime Grill. Our group will no longer have its parties there. Too bad!
