Carciofi Ristorante 904 Kings Highway
Submitted by: Barbara Wolin on Jul 25th 2008
This restaurant is absolutely terrific. The service is great and the food is out of this world. It's brand new. I've dined there twice. they make their own bread that is so delicious, it could be a meal itself. The food is so fresh and so delicious it could be addictive. We had Veal Marsala, Chicken Francais and Lasagna with eggplant. The Veal and Chicken had a delicate, delicious wine sauce with fresh mushrooms. The vegetable on the side might look everyday, but once you taste it, you'll know they are truly something special. If I had the money, I'd take out a full page ad in the Jewish Press announcing my joy at finally having a restaurant in Brooklyn that is highly satisfactory in every way possible. It's very comfortable as well. Try it. You'll love it.

When did the original owners leave? I was there this week and saw new faces, asked about the original owners and was told they sold the business. Sad, they were very different in many ways. I never ate kosher until i happened tro walk in there 3 years ago. Alan and the staff were friendly and knew what they were doing. Sorry, new owner needs some serious training.

Grill Time North Miami
Submitted by: Bunny Schreiber on Jul 18th 2008
This was always my favorite restaurant -- until last week.

Ordered the Rib Eye as I always do and it was 1/2-3/4 fat. When I complained I was told that it was the best they could get because of the Rubashkin problem. They just couldn't get better meat What a terrible excuse. As a GOOD restaurant, they should have stopped serving steaks altogether, with a note on the menu saying: "Sorry to disappoing you but we will not be serving this quality of meat."

I would have felt much better and would have saved $40. Also, they would not have lost a customer.

Hi Carol, I am not sure what exactly you are looking for in terms of space for a wedding (dance floor etc.) If you are looking primarily for a dinner reception with space for a band we will be more than happy to organize that for you. please feel free to contact me via email at zwuensch@aol.com Thank you, Zalman @ Wolf & Lamb

Tierra Sur at Herzog Winery
Submitted by: Greg Ross on Jul 11th 2008
We had dinner on Wednesday evening. We were a four top and had a very good meal. The service was good. The table was set well, and the bread was fresh. Three suggestions: 1) Get better Extra Virgin Olive Oil (DOP from Italy) so that you do not have to hide the quality with garlic. 2) Get a better wine list with wines from other countries, perhaps the ones that you sell in the tasting room 3) When a guest requests a change (subtraction or addition) to an entree such as our group did, make sure that the open kitchen does not make comments, or fun of special requests. When your guests are paying this much money for their entrees, and there is an open kitchen, and our table was adjacent to the kitchen, these type of comments to do not leave a good impression. Our bill came to $300.00 for 4 people (with a $50.00 tip) and to have the kitchen openly complain that the there was a request for no mushrooms with the chicken, was offensive.

The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. The big problem is that there is no bathroom in the restaurant. There is one on another floor in the building, but you can spend 15 minutes waiting for the elevator in that building. I highly recommend their delivery.

BBQ
Submitted by: Eddie Schweky on Jul 1st 2008
On the Food Network, there is a show called BBQ University with Mr. Steve Raiclan.
He teaches a seminar of 3-4 days on all sorts of BBQ techniques.
Is there any such program that is Kosher?
Or do you know of a kosher BBQ chef that gives or can give lessons? I am interested in learning BBQ techniques as I wish to enter a contest for it.
Thanks for your help. Any responses will be appreciated.

Kosher Bistro, on the corner of East 19th and Avenue M is proud to announce that they are now under the Vaad Harabanim of Flatbush.

It's an excellent fish restaurant. Let's try to patronize the restaurant so he can stay in business.
